As promised here is the second installment in my riveting adventure through the history of computing and the gaming industry that has a direct correlation to it. in this post i will be exploring the success stories that have shaped the modern era and those that haven't  i will begin with the success stories, it first began in 1939 with the oscilloscope this was mainly for military use age, which is the main progresses off technology in this field with this device, one that used the cathode ray.
For the next advancement we go to 1970 and not to a device but a company, a company called xerox, this company did not only make computers but were responsible for advancements such as the Ethernet cable and laser printers.
From the advancements of computing comes the advancements in computer games such as that in 1979 with maze wars, the first LAN FPS. and halfway through the 1970's advancements in home computing were skyrocketing with the apple 2 in 1977 and the Atari VCS prototype the first working cartridge gaming device.
And there we are my incredibly brief look back at the history of computers and computer games.
So its been a while since I've posted anything on here. better late than ever huhh, so anyway back to the topic in hand, a week ago I was sitting in a lecture hall listing the history of computer games. A topic which i found confusing in a course mainly revolving around the art, I (as it turns out) was wrong a recurring theme in this blog.

Anyway I'm getting off topic here in this short space I will go through the history of computer games well actually these key points the first being the fake facade on which the impression of the industry being all male is simply not true. I point I will show you is during the 2nd world war, specifically the cracking of the enigma code. And yes i know that the technology may not be considered beneficial to computer game purists but I will continue. the mathematics behind the enigma machine was solved not by men but but the talented women up and down the country however the sad and annoying fact is that very few of the women are pictured in photographs and even less are remembered.

Sad isn't it, keep following the post's for more reads like this the nest one will be about the success and failure of selected designs throughout the history of computer games and computers.

so it was after my first real assignment (the results of which can be found below) I discovered I could actually draw things that weren't from my mind. and even more weird I enjoyed it. ohh and please excuse the enormous shadow really need to invest in a good camera.
So yeah, at the beginning of this year i was terrified at the prospect of never seeing daylight again. but after being in the course for 2 weeks now I can say I was wrong. this is the most adventurous I have ever been in my educational life.
